Player Notes
The Nationals are expected to activate Ben Revere (oblique) on Friday.

Advice: Revere could have played Thursday but manager Dusty Baker didn't want to risk it in the cold weather. He'll take batting practice and go through a normal pregame routine. Michael Taylor and Jayson Werth both stand to lose playing time with Revere healthy again.

Ben Revere (oblique) is not in the Nationals' lineup Thursday against the Cubs.

Advice: Revere has joined the Nationals in Chicago after finishing his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse. There was speculation he could be activated on Thursday but it appears the Nats will wait until Friday to make that move. Michael Taylor will start in center field and bat leadoff. Revere strained his oblique in Washington's season opener on April 4.

Ben Revere (oblique) is expected to rejoin the Nationals on Thursday at Wrigley Field.

Advice: Revere played a full nine innings of center field Tuesday in his fifth minor league rehab game and came out of it feeling fine. He's been on the disabled list since suffering a strained oblique in the Nationals' regular-season opener. Michael Taylor and Jayson Werth are probably both looking at a reduction in playing time with Revere returning to starting center field duties.

Advice: And he went 1-for-5 at the plate. It was Revere's fifth minor league rehab game, but only his first time playing all nine innings. The speedy center fielder is due to rejoin the Nats this weekend in Chicago.

MLB.com's William Ladson reports that Ben Revere (oblique) will begin his rehab stint at Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Advice: The speedy center fielder reported there on Wednesday and should play at least half a game in his rehab debut Thursday night. Revere has been sidelined since the Nationals' season-opening game because of a right oblique strain. With his rehab stint about to get underway, an early May return is looking more and more likely.
