Player Notes
Nationals manager Matt Williams said Monday that Wilson Ramos might be ahead of schedule after hamate bone surgery.

Advice: Ramos, who has surgery on April 2, has begun swinging with a light bat. He's making encouraging progress, but he's unlikely to return before mid-May and it wouldn't be surprising if it takes some time for his power to bounce back.

Wilson Ramos (hand) took five light swings Friday.

Advice: It's the first time he's swung a bat since hamate bone surgery on April 2. Although Ramos said he didn't feel any pain, his left wrist remains weak (which is no surprise). He's expected back with the Nationals in mid-May.

Wilson Ramos had the stitches removed from his surgically-repaired left hand on Tuesday.

Advice: Ramos, who underwent hamate bone surgery on April 2, can now begin doing basic rehab exercises. The hope is that he'll be ready to rejoin the Nationals' active roster around mid-May, though hamate bone injuries are notorious for sapping power in the short term and Ramos no longer carries nearly as much attraction as a fantasy option in standard redraft leagues.
