Player Notes
Jay Bruce went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored as the Reds defeated the Pirates on Wednesday. More impressively, he stole two bases in the effort as well.

Advice: Bruce is not known around the baseball world for being fleet of foot, but his two swipes on Wednesday gives him three on the season in as many attempts. His season-high is nine, achieved in 2012. Bruce continues to be one of baseball's most consistent hitters, as his current .250/.368/.472 slash line is right in line with his marks since coming into the league.

Jay Bruce went 2-for-5 with a home run in the Reds' win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Bruce got to Cubs reliever Jose Veras for the solo shot, his third of the year. It was his 10th RBI on the year. He started slow out of the gate, but Bruce has five hits in his last two games and could be heating up. When hot, he's one of the most dangerous power hitters in the game.

Jay Bruce finished 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in the Reds' loss to the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Bruce drove home Billy Hamilton on a single in the top of the seventh inning and also collected singles in the first and sixth innings. He is now batting .204/.362/.389 with nine RBI in 16 games this season.

Jay Bruce is not in the Reds' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Bruce is getting a breather against tough left-hander Francisco Liriano. Chris Heisey is starting in his place in right field. Devin Mesoraco is also sitting out, with Brayan Pena getting the start behind the dish.
