Player Notes
Hunter Pence went 3-for-5 and drove home three runs on Sunday as the Giants topped the Rockies 8-3 in an afternoon showdown at Coors Field.

Advice: Pence, who missed most of the week with a hamstring injury, doubled three times in the game and scored a pair of runs. He has been a force in the middle of the Giants lineup when healthy this season, slashing .304/.384/.503 with seven homers and 36 RBI.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Hunter Pence (hamstring) could still return to the Giants lineup on Friday.

Advice: Pence will test out his hamstring in the outfield and on the bases before Friday's game. Even if he doesn't make his way into the lineup, it sounds as though he's close and should return in the next day or two.

Hunter Pence (hamstring) remained out of the Giants' lineup Friday.

Advice: Pence has been limited to a couple pinch-hitting opportunities over the last week due to a sore right hamstring. Jarrett Parker is filling in in right field.

Hunter Pence (hamstring) remains absent from the Giants' starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon.

Advice: Pence has been dealing with right hamstring discomfort since Saturday and told reporters Tuesday that he plans to take it easy and let the muscle fully heal. There's a chance he could return Friday after Thursday's scheduled off day, but it's not guaranteed. Jarrett Parker is starting in left field and Gregor Blanco is in right field Wednesday versus Padres right-hander James Shields.

Hunter Pence (hamstring) is out of the Giants' starting lineup again on Tuesday versus the Padres.

Advice: Jarrett Parker will start in left field and bat seventh and Gregor Blanco will start in right field and bat eighth. Pence has been bothered by hamstring discomfort since Saturday, though he did hit a walkoff bloop double on Monday night against the Padres. He remains day-to-day.

Tue, 24 May Rotoworld
Hunter Pence (hamstring) delivered a walk-off pop-up RBI double in Monday's win over the Padres.

Advice: It was a ball that should have been caught, but the Giants will take it. Pence has missed three straight starts with a mild right hamstring strain and didn't feel comfortable taking swings in batting practice Monday, but he's not far off.

Tue, 24 May Rotoworld
Hunter Pence was diagnosed with a mild right hamstring strain following an MRI.

Advice: Pence has missed the last two games, but he's scheduled to take batting practice on Monday and could potentially talk his way into the lineup if he feels good. Either way, it doesn't sound like he'll be sidelined for much longer.

Mon, 23 May Rotoworld
Hunter Pence (hamstring) is out again Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Pence has now missed three straight games with right hamstring soreness. The Giants continue to call him day-to-day. Gregor Blanco is starting in right field again Monday.

Mon, 23 May Rotoworld
Hunter Pence (hamstring) is once again absent from the Giants starting lineup on Sunday.

Advice: Pence is dealing with soreness in his right hamstring, which also caused him to miss Saturday's game. He is available off the bench as a pinch-hitter, but manager Bruce Bochy thought it would be best to give him an extra day of rest. Gregor Blanco will once again start in his place in right field with Angel Pagan manning left field.
