Player Notes
Carlos Gonzalez is not in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Patrick Corbin is pitching for Arizona and Gonzalez is batting just .161 against left-handers this year. Drew Stubbs will start in left field and bat sixth. Since blowing up for five hits against San Francisco on June 27, Gonzalez has gone just 3-for-28 with six strikeouts.

Carlos Gonzalez went 5-for-5 with a triple and a double Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Well, it seems like the hand is okay. Gonzalez was making his first start since getting hurt six days earlier. It's his fourth career five-hit game, but just the second time this year that he's had as many as three hits.

Carlos Gonzalez (hand) has returned to the Rockies starting lineup on Friday.

Advice: Gonzalez has appeared only as a defensive replacement since leaving Sunday's game with a sprained left hand. He's hitting .237/.302/.409 with 10 homers and 27 RBI in 66 games on the season.

Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is expected to return to the Rockies' lineup on Friday.

Advice: Gonzalez has served as a defensive replacement the last couple days but hasn't started a game since Sunday due to a sprained left hand. The 29-year-old had been red-hot before the injury with six homers in his previous 18 games, so hopefully the hand issue is behind him.

Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is not in the Rockies' starting lineup Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gonzalez was able to serve as a defensive sub on Wednesday night, but he still can't swing a bat due to a sprained left hand. Brandon Barnes is starting in right field.

Carlos Gonzalez (hand) served as a defensive replacement in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: CarGo entered to play right field in the top of the ninth inning, with Ben Paulsen shifting to first base and the defensively-challenged Wilin Rosario heading to the bench. It was a risky move by manager Walt Weiss, as Gonzalez still can't swing a bat due to a sprained left hand. He was due to hit sixth in the bottom of the ninth, but the Rockies were sent down in order. CarGo remains day-to-day.

Carlos Gonzalez (hand) swung a bat Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a hand sprain.

Advice: "It's getting there," Gonzalez said of his hand. "It's sore, of course, because it was a sprain. But the more treatment I get, the more I can get better. Hopefully the next few days I can get better and better." Rockies manager Walt Weiss said Gonzalez would likely be available to pinch-hit in Wednesday's game, a good sign as well. Hopefully CarGo will be back in the Rockies lineup in the next few days.
