Player Notes
Shin-Soo Choo is not in the Rangers' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Choo played the last two days after returning from a back ailment, but the Rangers will rest him Wednesday in an afternoon game versus a left-hander. Robinson Chirinos is also getting a breather, as the Rangers are going with Jake Smolinski in right field and Carlos Coroporan behind the plate. Delino DeShields is starting in left field and is hitting leadoff.

Shin-Soo Choo (back) is back in the Rangers' lineup Monday.

Advice: Choo missed a couple games after exiting Friday's game with back spasms, but he's obviously feeling well enough to get back out there today. The veteran outfielder is hitting .214/.313/.500 with one homer in the early going this season.

Shin-Soo Choo (back) remained out of the Rangers' lineup Sunday.

Advice: He's now sat out two straight contests after exiting Friday's game with back spasms. Choo remains day-to-day and is being replaced in right field by Jake Smolinski. Also sitting for the Rangers on Sunday are Mitch Moreland and Robinson Chirinos.

Shin-Soo Choo had to leave Friday's game against the Astros due to back spasms.

Advice: Choo dealt with a sore triceps for the last couple weeks of spring training, but isn't apparently a back problem here. The Rangers are calling him day-to-day for the time being. Jake Smolinski took Choo's spot in right field Friday.

Shin-Soo Choo exited Friday's game versus the Astros with an apparent injury.

Advice: The Rangers just can't catch a break right now. It's unclear how Choo was hurt, as he was replaced in right field by Jake Smolinski after the second inning. He dealt with a sore triceps for the last couple weeks of spring training, so it's reasonable to assume he may have aggravated that ailment. The Rangers should provide more on his status soon.

Shin-Soo Choo belted one of four Rangers home runs and drove home three on Thursday, leading the offensive onslaught in a 10-1 victory over the Athletics.

Advice: The Rangers jumped on A’s starter Kendall Graveman early and often in this one, pushing eight runs across in the first four innings, with Choo’s three-run blast the exclamation point that chased the young right-hander from the game. Mitch Moreland, Adrian Beltre and Rougned Odor also left the yard. Choo finished the day 2-for-5 and scored a pair of runs.
