Player Notes
Curtis Granderson struck out three times and was hit by a pitch from the second spot in the Mets' lineup in Monday's win.

Advice: That Terry Collins thought moving Granderson up in the lineup might be a solution was pretty novel. Granderson is now hitting .121 with a scary 23 strikeouts in 66 at-bats.

Curtis Granderson will bat second in Monday night's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Granderson is off to a slow start, so manager Terry Collins moved him to the No. 2 spot in the lineup on Sunday and he will remain there for at least one more game. In 72 plate appearances to start the season, Granderson is slashing .127/.222/.238.

Curtis Granderson is hitting in the No. 2 spot in Sunday's game versus the Braves.

Advice: Granderson is hitting only .154/.267/.288 with a homer and four RBI in his first 15 games as a Met, so manager Terry Collins has decided to move him out of the cleanup spot. Daniel Murphy, who is normally the No. 2 hitter, is now hitting fourth. Travis d'Arnaud and Ruben Tejada are getting the day off Sunday, with Anthony Recker and Omar Quintanilla filling in.

Curtis Granderson returned to action on Friday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: The Mets entire offense was stifled by Aaron Harang in this one, getting just a David Wright single and nothing more. Granderson has struggled in the early going of his Mets tenure, slashing .154/.267/.288 with a homer and four RBI in his first 15 games.

Curtis Granderson (ribs) was retired on a groundout in a pinch-hitting appearance on Wednesday.

Advice: Granderson is still dealing with minor aches and bruising in his rib cage, forearm, and knee from a collision with the outfield wall at Arizona's Chase Field on Monday. He is expected to return to the starting lineup Saturday.

Fri, 18 Apr Rotoworld
Mets manager Terry Collins said Wednesday that he expects Curtis Granderson (ribs) back in the lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Granderson injured his ribs, forearm and knee when he collided with the wall during Monday's game. He's missing a second straight start Wednesday and evidently will sit out Friday, as well, following Thursday's off day. The offseason signee will return to a .170/.291/.319 batting line with one homer and four RBI on Saturday.

Curtis Granderson (ribs) remained out of the Mets' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Granderson banged his ribs, forearm and knee when he collided with the wall during Monday's game. He's now missed two straight starts, but with the off day Thursday he has a shot to be back in there Friday. Andrew Brown is handling right field Wednesday. Travis d'Arnaud is also getting a day off Wednesday, with Anthony Recker filling in at catcher.

Curtis Granderson (ribs) could be available to pinch-hit Tuesday.

Advice: Granderson had to exit Monday's game after colliding with the outfield wall, but he's feeling much better a day later. There had been some thought that he might need a DL stint, but obviously that won't be the case.

X-rays on Curtis Granderson (rib cage, forearm, knee) came back negative.

Advice: Granderson crashed into the right field while during the first inning of Monday's game against the Diamondbacks. He stayed in the game initially, but the Mets eventually decided to pull him out of concern about his rib cage. He's considered day-to-day, but was in quite a bit of pain after the game. Expect him to miss a couple of days at the very least.

Curtis Granderson will undergo X-rays after leaving Monday's game with rib cage, forearm, and knee contusions.

Advice: Granderson slammed into the right field wall while trying to track down a fly ball in the first inning Monday. He actually stayed in the game for five more innings, but the Mets eventually decided to pull him. We'll know more about his status after tests are completed.
