Player Notes
Brandon Phillips doubled twice, drove in two key runs, scored one of his own and stole a base on Wednesday versus the Marlins.

Advice: He helped produce all three runs his team put on the board. He also made a nifty defensive play to rob Dee Gordon of a hit, so it was an all-around good game for the Reds' veteran second baseman. The swiped bag gave him nine on the season to go with his .284 batting average, eight homers, 50 RBI and 54 runs. He has played through a few nagging knee and hand injuries this year but has remained productive.

Brandon Phillips (knee) is back in the Reds' starting lineup on Wednesday against the Marlins.

Advice: Phillips missed the first two games of this series after leaving Sunday's series finale against the Brewers with a left knee contusion. The veteran is starting at second base and batting cleanup on Wednesday versus Marlins right-hander Andrew Cashner.

Brandon Phillips (knee) is not in Tuesday's lineup versus the Marlins.

Advice: Phillips exited Sunday's game with a left knee contusion and apparently needs at least one more day of rest. Ivan DeJesus, Jr. will fill in at second base.
