How do we know that high school football season is finally truly upon us? Well, it's not just the handful of top games that happened over the weekend. The truly stupendous highlights are also beginning to trickle out, and this unbelievable one-handed grab by Fayetteville (N.C.) Jack Britt wide receiver Kenny Jenkins is making an early push to be considered one of the great grabs of the 2011 season.
As you can see in the above video from TheWolfpacker, Jenkins went to out to absolute full stretch to pull in the pass from Buccaneers quarterback Mark McRae, eventually hitting the turf after what amounted to be one of the most athletic 47-yard gains you'll see.
The grab was one of three for Jenkins in the game as the receiver emerged as the standout star in Jack Britt's 28-14 victory against Pinecrest (N.C.) High, finishing with 140 yards . It was also one of only four completed passes by McRae. Jenkins also added 11 yards on two carries for the Buccaneers.
Now, Prep Rally isn't saying that this is going to be the best catch of the season, but it is saying that this one is probably going to make the list. Quite frankly, after watching the grab no fewer than five times, we still can't quite understand how he was able to corral the pass with one hand and still control it without letting the ball hit the ground.
Then again, those are exactly the type of incredulous moments that make high school football so great … and precisely the type of reason why Prep Rally, for one, is so excited that the season is off and running again.
