ESPN football analyst Cian Fahey says he resigned from the company after drinking too much and being “ignorant” while at a bar. After his exit from the company was briefly mentioned on The Dan Le Batard Show on Friday, Fahey addressed the situation on Twitter.
Fahey explained that he messed up in a NSFW tweet before providing some details that led to his resignation from ESPN.
I immediately offered to resign. Letting the people involved down is the worst part of this. I love everyone there. Every single one of them stands for what’s right in the world and I applaud them for calling me out when I was wrong.

Fahey ended his statement by saying he would “learn from this but for now I deserve all the criticism that comes my way.”
ESPN confirmed Fahey was no longer with the company in a one sentence statement to Deadspin. They declined further comment.
After years of evaluating quarterbacks at his personal site, Pre-Snap Reads, Fahey announced that he would be doing a podcast with ESPN in July. The also made a few appearances on The Dan Le Batard Show during his brief tenure with the company.
