TORONTO — A career that started on the practice roster has earned Chad Owens a spot in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. WINNIPEG — Lyle Bauer, a former CFL player and executive, has died. He was 65. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the team Bauer played for and later served as CEO, announced Bauer's death on its Instagram page Wednesday. Bauer, a Saskatoon native, played his entire 10-year CFL career as an offensive with the Blue Bombers (1982-91). OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks acquired Canadian long-snapper Peter Adjey from the Edmonton Elks on Wednesday for a 2025 third-round pick. The six-foot-three, 230-pound Adjey appeared in 36 regular-season games over the last two seasons with Edmonton. The Elks selected the 24-year-old Toronto native in the third round, No. 28 overall, of the 2022 CFL draft out of Queen's University.
