Padraig Harrington finds luck in the number 297, wins the Honda Classic

The Honda Classic was anything but a normal event on the PGA Tour. Storms stopped play multiple times over the weekend – and even knocked out a floating scoreboard on Saturday.

A Monday morning finish ended in a playoff with Padraig Harrington taking home the title in a playoff over rookie Daniel Berger.

Remember Paddy? The 43-year-old has fallen on hard times of late. Entering the Honda Classic, he hadn’t won in the U.S. since the 2008 PGA Championship.

Harrington was the second straight player to be ranked 297th in the Official World Golf Rankings and win on the PGA Tour.

Last week, James Hahn claimed the Northern Trust Open at Riviera for his first-ever Tour win, with that same No. 297 ranking. Weird, right?
