The Tulsa Shock announced Wednesday that guard Skylar Diggins will be out the rest of the season due to a torn ACL in her right knee. The Shock said Diggins will undergo surgery, though the date has not been announced.

Diggins, who scored a season-high 31 points before suffering the injury, got hurt with 44 seconds remaining in a 93-89 victory over the Seattle Storm at the BOK Center on Sunday.

"I'm focused on getting healthy and stepping on the court even stronger," Diggins, who is known for her grit and confidence, said in a statement released by the team.

Diggins has been a face of women's basketball ever since her time at Notre Dame. She was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player and a First Team All-Star in 2014.

Diggins hasn't gone into detail about the upcoming surgery on social media, but sends thanks for the support.

"For the remainder of this season, I will continue to support my teammates in every way possible," Diggins said in the release.

Diggins in only her third year led the Shock to their best start and record (8-1) in team history. While Diggins will be missed greatly, she'll be back for more.
