The Toronto Raptors may be in the heart of the Eastern Conference playoff race with 26 games remaining in the season, but the seriousness that surrounds a post-season push clearly hasn’t stopped the Raptors from doing their best to stay loose.

And Monday evening, even if it was only for a moment, Raptors fans had the opportunity to turn their attention away from what was a sloppy effort against the Washington Wizards and see their team give its best rendition of the Harlem Shake.

Yes, the Raptors are a couple weeks behind the times and the dance and song that goes along with it are undoubtedly beginning to become annoying as opposed to funny, but come on, Amir Johnson in a mask that somewhat resembles Jigsaw from Saw prancing around while Dwane Casey addresses a group of players in the dressing room, what could be bad?

And if that doesn’t at least make you chuckle maybe part two of the video will as a group of Raptors players dance in the middle of the dressing room in a completely random set of Halloween-type costumes while their coach looks on with his arms folded, shaking his head and trying not to laugh.

But hey, I’ll let you judge for yourself.

The Raptors aren’t the first sports team to ‘do’ the Harlem Shake. Most recently the Arizona Diamondbacks put together their best version of the popular hip hop dance during a spring training workout and several college and high school teams have also have also spun their own renditions.

It may not have caught on quite like Call Me Maybe did in 2012, but there’s no doubt that the Harlem Shake has left its mark on the sporting world.

As for the Raptors playoff hopes? They didn’t do themselves any favours in falling 90-84 at home Monday to the Wizards in what was a very winnable game and one that could come back to haunt them down the stretch of the season.
