Nick Kyrgios hits epic set-saving shot during the second round of the Australian Open
You know what's fun? Hitting the best shot of the match to save a set. You know what makes that even better? When you're doing it in front of your fellow countrymen like Nick Kyrgios did during his second round match at the Australian Open.
Kyrgios, the 18-year-old from Melbourne, was facing a second set break point against Benoit Paire after taking the first set off the Frenchman and as he came to net it was a solid passing shot from Paire that looked like it would drop for the break and the set.
Kyrgios stuck his racquet out, picked the ball perfectly and the crowd erupted in Margaret Court Arena.
The good news for Kyrgios is that save ended up winning him the second set in a tiebreaker, but the bad news is that the Aussie eventually lost in five sets to Paire.
No matter, this ball from Kyrgios is up for shot of the tournament so far in Melbourne.
