Maria Sharapova can’t believe it

Things Maria Sharapova could have been in disbelief about during Monday's three-set win over Klara Zakopalova:

1. The women's quarterfinals included only three of the top-eight seeds.

2. Caroline Wozniacki got an underwear line before her.

3. End of last week's "Mad Men."

4. Seeing an actual cow skating on actual ice.

What she was actually eye-popping over: A bizarre point on which Zakopalova fell, then hit a ball wide. Sharapova raised her finger to call it out, reconsidered and then smashed a winner. The chair umpire ruled Sharapova had stopped playing the point and gave it to Zakopalova. The No. 2 seed went on to lose the second set before a decisive victory in the third.

She'll face Kaia Kanepi in a Wednesday quarterfinal. Sharapova is seeking her first French Open title, which would give her a career Grand Slam. She's a co-favorite to hoist the trophy on Saturday, along with Sam Stosur.
