A week later, all is well with Jose Mourinho after Chelsea wins Capital One Cup

Just a week ago, Jose Mourinho was furiously waving his arms in protest of referee Martin Atkinson's decisions against Chelsea in a shocking 1-1 draw with relegation-bound Burnley. Surprisingly, the Blues boss managed to contain his anger in the postgame interview, launching into a controlled rant in which he would only list the "four moments of the game" – or the moments he believed that cost the Premier League leaders all three points.

Fast forward to Sunday and the Capital One Cup final at Wembley. How did the Blues fare against a young, talented Tottenham side that tore them to pieces in a 5-3 domination on New Year's Day? Well, this is how well things went for Chelsea:

Yes, Mourinho was in such a good mood he was having fun with the TV cameras. The Special One felt he could relax after John Terry scored just before halftime and Diego Costa's shot deflected off Kyle Walker and into the net in the 56th minute for a convincing 2-0 victory that delivered Mournho's first silverware since returning to Stamford Bridge.

"It's a beautiful day for me," said a much happier Mourinho in his postgame interview. "I win, but I win with my club. And that means more than just winning. So I'm very happy."

Harry Kane, the 21-year-old Spurs revelation who buried Chelsea with two clinical strikes on New Year's Day, found little room to roam on Sunday due to Mourinho's deploying of three center backs with Terry, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma. Zouma assumed one of the holding midfielder roles for the suspended Nemanja Matic and played a big role in slowing down Kane and the dangerous Tottenham attack.

The trophy marked the fifth League Cup title for Chelsea, which got good news earlier in the day in the Premier League title race after second-place Manchester City dropped points in a 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield. Philippe Coutinho scored another golazo for the match winner to go with last weekend's likely Goal of the Season.
