A nurse at the Foreleza hospital that Neymar was rushed to after suffering a back injury during Brazil's 2-1 win over Colombia has been fired for filming his arrival and then sharing it on the internet. The video of the Brazilian star strapped to a gurney and being rushed down a corridor by medical personnel was quickly uploaded and spread across social networks before it was known that Neymar would miss the rest of the World Cup with a fractured vertebra.

The nurse was identified because at the end of the video she turned the camera on herself, so she could say "woo-hoo!" and happily pose while the rest of the country was in no mood to celebrate, despite the win.

According to Globo, a hospital administrator confirmed that the nurse had been dismissed for violating a patient's privacy.

Meanwhile, fans have been encouraged to record messages of support for Neymar (that don't violate his privacy) through a mobile app.
