Mesut Ozil snuck in a curling free kick for a late equalizer against Borussia Dortmund

An Alvaro Arbeloa own goal just before halftime put Borussia Dortmund on track for their second consecutive 2-1 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League group of death, but Mesut Ozil came to the Spanish champions' rescue in the 89th minute with a devilishly excruciating free kick.

Ozil curled his free kick just beyond the reach of Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller and just dinged it in off the bottom corner of the near post. The Real bench immediately went nuts, but instead of breaking out his power slide like when Cristiano Ronaldo scored a 90th-minute winner against Man City, Jose Mourinho kept his poker face.

After the match, he expressed how little he cares about finishing second in the group and compared the rest of the Champions League to the Europa League. From SBS:

"If the group finishes now we are qualified. This is the toughest group and to qualify from this group is a success," he added.

"If we finish second it is a problem for the other teams that finish first in their groups. If you finish first you expect to play an easier rival but they could play Real Madrid.

"If I were a fan I would prefer to see a game like this and draw than the games in other groups which are like Europa League games.

"The two times I have won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan I have finished second in the group."

Translation: Be afraid, because Jose is not.
