Mario Balotelli comments from the bench during Italy’s match against Spain

Mario Balotelli started for Italy in its Euro 2012 opener against Spain and even in a match filled with brilliant talents playing for the last two World Cup winners, he was still largely the center of attention. He earned a yellow card in the 37th minute, seeming to forget his vow to keep himself under control during the tournament, and in the 53rd minute he squandered his excellent move to strip the ball off of Sergio Ramos to give himself a one vs. one against Iker Casillas by simply not shooting before Ramos chased him down and stripped him from behind.

Mario was then substituted in the 57th minute for 34-year-old Antonio Di Natale, who scored with his first touch to put Italy up 1-0, but Spain equalized three minutes later and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

After being substituted, Mario had this to say from the Italy bench (probably):

"What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of f***in' a******s. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be. You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your f***in' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!"

Here's actual video of the chance Balotelli didn't take...
