Manchester City moved their advertising boards to counteract Stoke’s long throw-ins

Stoke have lost all five of their Premier League visits to the Etihad Stadium, conceding fourteen goals and scoring none in the process.

Prior to their encounter on New Year's Day, Manchester City helped ensure another walkover by moving the advertising hoardings around the field as close to the touchline as possible. Not only did this delight the advertisers, but it stopped Stoke launching their trademark long throw-ins, meaning the Potters had to resort to less direct methods of breaking into the opposition box.

City aren't the first side to pull this kind of home court advantage against Stoke — and they apparently did it before last season's match too — but one would think that worth around £360m more than their Staffordshire rivals would be advantageous enough.
