Leo Messi’s newborn son already has his own Barcelona shirt

Leo Messi girlfriend, Antonella Rocuzzo, gave birth to their first child on Friday afternoon, a boy named Thiago. The 25-year-old, who has won the last three Ballon d'Or awards, announced the birth on his Facebook page. He (or someone representing him) wrote:

Today I am the happiest man in the world, my son was born and thanks to God for this gift! Thanks to my family for the support! A hug to everyone.

Of course, being the son of one of the greatest footballers in the world will bring its own pressures to Thiago. The top headline on Barcelona's official website when the news broke was "Thiago Messi is born" -- a bold proclamation that sounds more like its heralding the arrival of the next in line for the throne than Leo Messi's happy moment.

In fact, even before his son was born, Spanish sports paper Mundo Deportivo gave Messi a tiny Barca shirt featuring his own No. 10 and Thiago's name on the back. So now the countdown begins until young Thiago is forced into a rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo's son when they both appear on "Celebrity Big Brother."
