Kilmarnock manager climbs atop railing after getting sent off

Fresh off a four-match ban, Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels was sent off after Inverness substitute Borja Perez scored an injury-time equalizer on Wednesday. In a series of events reminiscent of Arsene Wenger's sending off at Old Trafford in 2009 where he stood up behind the benches amongst Man United fans, Shiels was also ordered to the stands for kicking a water bottle. But while Wenger's reaction came off as a defiant attempt to show up the referee that was even cheered by opposing supporters, Shiels' climb up a railing near the dugout just came off as a bit weird.

His excuse didn't sway the official, though. After initially being told to go, Shiels kicked an advertisement near the bench but didn't leave. When the referee walked back over to him and pointed to the stands, Shiels shrugged, went back to the bench and climbed a railing next to it. He then stood atop the railing with his arms crossed like Batman until a couple of stewards told him to get down. So he stepped back into the stand right behind the dugout and watched the remaining seconds of the match from there.

Shiels has already been given two touchline bans in the last few months -- one of which was a suspended ban that could go into effect after this showing.
