Juventus’ Arturo Vidal appeals for a penalty against Real Madrid after being tripped up by turf

At the Bernabeu, it is usually Pepe's job to foul the opposition, but that role was apparently performed by the turf when Juventus visited on Tuesday night. The Old Lady were 2-1 down to Real Madrid in their Champions League group game when some cynical blades of grass in the penalty area fouled Arturo Vidal. The Chilean midfielder appealed for a penalty when the grass came out of nowhere to bring him down, but the playing surface wasn't even given a booking. There is clearly no justice in this game.

The lack of punishment for the green stuff felt particularly unjust as Juve's Giorgio Chiellini received a highly controversial red card in the 48th minute for "striking" Cristiano Ronaldo in the face. Although the Italian defender lightly brushed the Portuguese star with his fingers, Ronaldo went down like someone had smashed his beautiful, beautiful face with a sledgehammer made out of Leo Messi's Ballon d'Or trophies...
