Dutch Cup final halted after Ajax supporters cover the pitch with flares and smoke

Offside called on the flares.

Perhaps inspired by the overwhelming the display at a Greek Cup match earlier in the week, Ajax fans attempted their own form of defending during the Dutch Cup final against PEC Zwolle. Seconds into the game, PEC got the ball into Ajax's penalty area and as soon as they did, the fans behind the goal covered that end of the pitch with flares and smoke bombs, instantly halting play.

The referee stopped the match until order could be restored. Former Man United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar then came out onto the pitch and scolded the fans, saying, "Cut the s***!" But once the game resumed and there were no more flares to get in PEC's way, they went on to score five goals to Ajax's one. There's only so much pyrotechnic missiles can do.
