DTotD: Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost squashed Dejan Lovren’s head under his boot

Dirty Tackle

PSG eked out a 1-0 win against Lyon to overtake them at the top of the Ligue 1 table and though Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn't score the goal, he did claim another victim. Shortly before Blaise Matuidi scored in stoppage time of the first half, Zlatan came very close to squashing Lyon defender Dejan Lovren's head like a gourd as his foot came down against it.

Zlatan tried an awkward hop over Lovren after the Croatian fell to the ground -- a move that was ambitiously reckless to say the least and resulted in his foot scraping down the side of Lovren's face. Ibrahimovic's boot opened up a cut on his opponent's head, but the referee didn't think it was worthy of a booking. Instead, it was just another notch on Zlatan's ponytail.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
