David Villa scores in his first La Liga match in eight months, credits his family

Eight months after David Villa suffered a nasty leg break during Barcelona's Club World Cup semifinal, forcing him to miss the rest of the season and Spain's historic Euro 2012 victory, the prolific striker has returned.

With Barcelona already up 4-1 (two goals from Messi, of course) in the 75th minute of their La Liga opener against Real Sociedad, Villa entered the match and nine minutes after that, he scored after a combination of passes between him and Andres Iniesta. Villa then removed his jersey to reveal a shirt that read "Impossible without you!!! above a photo of his wife and kids.

Said Villa after the match (via Reuters):

"It has been a difficult time and it is nice to be back," Villa told Spanish television with a big grin.

"I am pleased to be able to say I can forget about the injury now. I have had five weeks training at the maximum level but my body still struggles to reach the levels necessary to play more minutes.

"I'll keep on working until I can eventually play a full game again."

And when he can, it'll be back to bench to grow creepy mustaches for Pedro.
