U.S. Olympic hopefuls pose for goofy yearbook photos

This year’s Team USA hopefuls are training non-stop for the upcoming Olympics, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a bit of fun along the road to Rio.

NBC Sports got together some of America’s best and brightest for a wacky high school yearbook-style photo shoot.

Here’s gold-medalist Gabby Douglas doing her best nerd impression, complete with a fuzzy cardigan and matching bow.

Large-framed specs like Douglas’ seemed to the accessory of choice. Allyson Felix took a page from Russell Westbrook’s book and paired her bright red frames with cow printed suspenders and a “Frankie Says Relax” shirt.

While Gabby and Allyson went the nerd route, Ryan Lochte chose to go rocker-chic. Lochte's mullet, shades and colorful shirt may pay tribute to the '80s, Lochte stayed true to his own laid-back style by incorportating the shaka.
