While you were sleeping: German Olympian accused of doping, Julie Chu to carry American flag
While the United States slept, things were busy on the other side of the globe. Here is our recap of everything Olympics you may have missed overnight.
*U.S. hockey player Julie Chu will carry the American flag in the Closing Ceremony. The 31-year-old forward from Bridgeport, Conn. studied at Harvard. Team USA’s women’s hockey team lost the gold medal match to Canada, 3 to 2.

*The German Olympic Committee says one of its athletes in Sochi failed a doping test, the Associated Press reported. The accused Olympian was not named -- and it’s not clear if he or she medaled at the Winter Games.
If a medalist is caught with prohibited substances in their system — which could be anything from performance enhancers to blood thinners to painkillers — the victory is revoked.
The IOC is conducting 2,453 drug tests in Sochi. It administered 5,051 tests at the London Games in 2012 and 2,149 at Vancouver in 2010. A Russian biathlete, Irina Starykh, withdrew in the days leading up to the Sochi Games because she tested positive for doping.
*Some people, about 1.5 million people, aren't happy about Yuna Kim's silver medal. A Change.org petition demanding a "rejudgement" of Olympic women's figure skating is gaining serious online traction. This comes on the heels of Team USA's Ashley Wagner slamming the judges.
*American Ski Jumper Sarah Hendrickson shared a tale of pure tragedy:
My mom sent me an email explaining my fish passed away. She said she couldn't keep him until I returned to "send him off" and apologized...
