Youth hockey team performs Whip/Nae Nae dance during delay (Video)

Youth hockey should be all about the fun of playing the game, not what it says on the scoreboard.

For the North Olmsted Squirt 3 team of the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League, it didn’t matter that they were losing 7-0 to Strongsville in a game last month. While they were lined up for a face-off a brief delay saw the rink DJ put on some Silento to pass the time, so the kids decided to tell the crowd to watch them whip and watch them nae nae.

We applaud these little kids for the making the most out of the brief delay before the face-off. It’s certainly a much better way to kill time than checking the tape on your stick, doing a couple of twirls on the ice or standing around in your posititon letting your muscles get cold.

What we need now is a battle of the squirt teams dance-off between North Olmsted and the Jr. Hurricanes to determine the true champion. Right wing Andrew Dempsey, No. 31 in the video, might need to sit it out because that kid is good.
