Watch Don Cherry dance to techno in Times Square, then wish you hadn't (Video)

Like most Canadians, I sort of assume that when Don Cherry's not on Coach's Corner, he just sits in a glass case, waiting to be activated. But it turns out that's not the case.

In New York for the Stanley Cup Final, Cherry apparently took a Vengabus down to Times Square to film a techno video on Tuesday's day off. In the video, which is terrible, footage of the Stanley Cup playoffs is interspersed with footage of Cherry dancing around in sunglasses, because sunglasses are cool.

Anyway. Those of us in Canada had to endure it, so now you have to, too.

Yikes. It's common knowledge that Cherry doesn't really mind looking like an old weirdo -- this is what he wore Wednesday night -- but even still, yikes.

Is this the worst video in which Cherry has ever starred? It's up there, and that's saying something. His last techno video -- Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Techno -- was pretty terrible. And that rap video continues to be a black mark.

Cherry, after the video aired during the first intermission of Game 4: "It seemed like a good idea at the time." It was not.

Especially since, if you're gonna dance to techno music, you have to go all the way. Sing and wear yoga pants too.
