Thursday’s Three Stars: Henrik, Henrique, lead Rangers, Devils to second round

Henrik Lundqvist does a spot-on Donald Sutherland from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

No. 1 Star: Adam Henrique, New Jersey Devils

The Devils' Calder-nominated rookie scored the first and last goals in a 3-2 Game 7 win over the Florida Panthers. Henrique's 1st goal came 1:29 into the game. His second came 3:47 into the second overtime to propel the Devils into the 2nd round, where they'll meet with the Philadelphia Flyers.

No. 2 Star: Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers

The Rangers' netminder was the difference in their Game 7 tilt with the Ottawa Senators Thursday, making 26 saves to keep the Senators at bay in a series-clinching 2-1 win. He was especially excellent in the third, when the Senators turned it up and yielded nothing, because that's what King Henrik gave them.

No. 3 Star: Dan Girardi, New York Rangers

Lundqvist got a strong defensive effort from the Rangers in front of him and it was led, as it often is, by Girardi. He played over 25 minutes, contributed 3 blocked shots, 3 hits, and the series-winning goal:

Honourable mention: ... If Daniel Alfredsson decides to hang it up, we salute the man ... Rangers fans chanting "Alfie sucks" at 11:11 is some high-quality trolling ... and here's your Rangers, Senators handshake line:

Did you know? The Senators are 0-5 in Game 7s.

Dishonourable mention: Tomas Kopecky and John Madden were trying to kill each other all night, and they play on the same team ... You'd think MSG would know which Staal is which.
