Hockey Halloween: The 10 best player costumes of 2015 (Photos)

Most hockey players have strong funny bones when it comes to Halloween costumes.

Social media has enhanced their ability to show this off, which is great for hockey fans since they get to see their heroes in a more human light.

This season has not disappointed from a costume perspective as players have taken to Instagram, Twitter and other mediums to show how goofy they can be.

Some are just slapstick hilarious, while others actually involved some level of thought. Who knew two young Washington Capitals were Tom Hanks movie buffs?

In honor of the Halloween season, we at Puck Daddy decided to pay homage to our 10 favorite costumes.

10. Phil Kessel-Federer

It’s always enjoyable to see Kessel out and about having a good time.

9. Three Blind Stars

Jason Demers is probably not blind since he’s smiling at the camera.

8. Dion Phaneuf is terrifying

What a makeup job on the Maple Leafs captain. Check out the timelapse.

 7. Oompa!

Great look on Jordin Tootoo’s face. How long did it take him to dye his eyebrows?

6. 1.21 Gigaslapshots!

Chris Kunitz as his best Marty McFly in “Back to the Future II” trumps Pascal Dupuis as a Minion.

5. Tim Burton Tanger

Kris Letang can be an extra in a Tim Burton movie. He has the perfect sharp features.

4. Alex Ovechkin saves Gotham

Ovi as our favorite vigilante crime fighter stokes our hockey Halloween love. There's something ridiculously 'Ovi' about this.

3. Erik Karlsson as an offensive sea witch

Good stuff from Karlsson with a classic Disney costume.

2. 101 T.J. Oshies

The dog does not look like T.J. Oshie. At. All.

1. WILSON!!!!

Even if Tom Wilson’s last name wasn’t “Wilson” this would be funny. Phenomenal creativity from Wilson and Michael Latta with the “Castaway” costume.

Honorable mention: The Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames went for ensemble looks at hospital charity visits. Jimmy Hayes’ Minion suit was priceless as were the Flames as The Avengers. Jonathan Bernier as an old man is pretty good. Steve Ott as "Suicide Squad" Joker is terrifying. Here's a little 'Terror-senko' action. Kevin Hayes and Keith Yandle as New York Rangers fans is quite hysterical. Lastly, Jordie Benn has huge thighs.
