Rooster hits the ice in Czech League game, ruins everything (Video)

The Olomouc rooster hits the ice in Kladno.

You may recall a certain infamous interview with Joe Thornton, in which he told the assembled media that, should he ever score four goals, he'd whip out his rooster.

Turns out that's actually a thing that happens. A rooster hit the ice in Sunday's Czech Extraliga match between Jaromir Jagr-owned HC Kladno and HC Olomouc. Here's video of the big bird being carried off the ice:

Embarrassing performance by the rooster. Over in Bakersfield, the condor left the ice on his own, and even had the presence of mind to make his way down the tunnel.

This thing had to be wrapped in a towel and carried off.

For those wondering why a rooster was on the ice, let alone in the building, Olomouc's nickname is the Roosters. The big bird is their mascot, and they've been drawing luck of late from letting it hit the ice once a night during commercial breaks.

This time around, they sent it out while they were sitting on a three-goal lead. But their luck turned.

It's their own fault. But Thornton could have told you the cock should only come out after a four-goal performance, and their grave error caused a drastic momentum shift. Kladno stormed back to tie the game, and won it 5-4 in a shootout.
