Rob Gronkowski plays dodgeball at minor league hockey game (Video)

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski continues to live the life we all want to vicariously live through him, whether it’s wearing a Minions winter hat on a Duck Bus during a Super Bowl parade or inspiring erotic fiction.

We’ve been especially thrilled by his strange, burgeoning relationship with hockey; or, more to the point, “How Gronk Can Take Other Sports Things And Make Them Into Hockey.”

It started when the Worcester Sharks offered to pay Gronk’s NFL fine for spiking the ball in a taunting manner, leading Gronk to spike a puck at their game in 2012. He repeated that gimmick last week before a Boston Bruins game, in celebration of the Patriots’ title.

On Wednesday night, Gronk somehow found himself at a Florida Everblades game vs. the Fort Wayne Komets in the ECHL, and he was invited to provide some intermission entertainment … by playing dodgeball on the ice after the second period.

How did he do?

Well, let’s just say someone could use a few lessons dodging wrenches from Patches O’Houlihan …

From Ryan Toohey of Naples News:

“The (Blades) got a win tonight, and we got some dodgeball in,” the Super Bowl XLIX-winning tight end said. “My throws were kind of off, but they had some power behind it. It was good to see the hometown team get a win. It’s good for the town, and it’s cool that everyone comes out to support them.”

Gronkowski, whose mother has an Estero home in Miromar Lakes, is a semiannual visitor of Southwest Florida.

“This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen,” Gronkowski said. “I visit the area a couple of times a year. I like to chill and do some stuff around the town; we come to some Everblades games once in a while.”

So there you go: Rob Gronkowski, celebrity puckhead. But if the Average Joes needed another player to stop White Goodman and Globo-Gym from putting them out of business … maybe ask Edelman instead?

If he’s not, you know, busy.
