Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins returns ahead of schedule. RNH had surgery on a torn labrum in April and the prognosis was he would miss six months. He's back a few weeks early and will slide into the No. 1 center spot, while Taylor Hall shifts back to the wing. Ryan Smyth will be the odd man out and watch from the press box.

2. Slow start for Oilers. According to STATS, this is the first time the Oilers have lost their opening two games since the 1998-99 season. They haven't lost three straight to start a season since 1995-96.

3. It's been almost 30 years since Wayne Gretzky called the Devils a "Mickey Mouse operation." As Rich Chere wrote today, next month marks the 30th anniversary of The Great One's infamous quote. Days later, the Devils fired their head coach and general manager as they sunk to a 2-18-0 record.

4. Ryan Callahan makes his debut. The Rangers' captain will take to the ice for the first time this season against the Kings after undergoing shoulder surgery in the summer. His addition will be a big boost to the team's penalty kill going up against a Kings power play unit that has scored on three of eight chances so far.

5. Henrik Lundqvist vs. Jonathan Quick. It hasn't been the best of starts for either goaltender, but here's to hoping they put on a show like Ryan Miller and Craig Anderson did on Friday night.
