Police confirm investigation into alleged incident at Patrick Kane's home, await forensic results

Hamburg Town Police Chief Gregory Wickett confirmed on Friday that his department is investigating an alleged incident that took place at the upstate New York home of Patrick Kane last weekend.

“At this time we are gathering information and awaiting forensic testing results," he said during a brief statement. "We’ll have no further comment on this investigation at this time.“

According to the Buffalo News, police investigated Kane’s home on Sunday for evidence after a woman alleged that the Chicago Blackhawks forward raped her after meeting him at a nightclub over the weekend. A rape kit was performed. Also, Roseanne Johnson, who deals with sexual assault cases and heads the Erie County District Attorney's SVU, has been assigned as the prosecutor to the case.

Wickett added that there is no timetable for an update on the situation and when asked if more information would be coming out soon, he responded, “I think you’re wasting your time, quite frankly.” So it could take some time before more developments arise.

He also said that he had no knowledge that Kane would be coming to speak with police on Friday. Kane has not been charged.
