Penguins, Blue Jackets seek to extend streaks (Puck Previews)

Back by popular demand, here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.

Preview: Calgary Flames at Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m. ET. The Jackets are looking for their 12th straight game with at least a point gained as they continue their crazy ride into playoff contention. Sergei Bobrovsky will start. Via Puck-Rakers: “He told Fox Sports Ohio that his family has been here for three weeks, but are leaving on Monday after the Blue Jackets begin their road trip. Word to the Blue Jackets: keep the Bobrovsky family together right now, as the kid has never been better.” OH NOES.

Preview: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders, 7 p.m. ET. The Pens are looking to match the longest win streak in the NHL this season at 11 games. Pittsburgh has outscored New York 10-3 in the past two meetings. The Islanders are 5-10-2 at home, worst in the NHL.

Preview: Washington Capitals at Winnipeg Jets, 7 p.m. ET. Because the lockout schedule is just that wacky, the Caps and Jets play again after Washington won at Winnipeg on Thursday night. Alex Ovechkin has four goals and three assists in five games, and is starting to punish people with hits. Meanwhile, are the Jets overworking their goalie?

Preview: Detroit Red Wings at Anaheim Ducks, 10 p.m. ET. The Ducks took the first meeting between the two, 5-2. They get Corey Perry back, having gone 3-0-1 in his suspension absence. Todd Bertuzzi again won’t play for Detroit, but is slowly working his way back.
