Pavel Datsyuk dangles, Ilya Kovalchuk figure skates at KHL All-Star skills competition

While most of the once-locked-out NHLers have returned from the KHL, a few have stayed behind, either because they want nothing less than to play for the Islanders, or, in the case of Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk, to lend their star power to the KHL All-Star Game. That game is Sunday, but the skills competition was on Friday night, and as you'd expect, Datsyuk and Kovalchuk both had memorable moments.

Datsyuk's came during the shootout competition, where he was able to show off some of the dangles for which he's known in both leagues. Check out both of his successful attempts:

The flip on that second attempt is some cheeky cheek. It pleases me to know that this guy will be back on NHL ice in a week.

But, while Datsyuk was showing off the visual poetry of his breakaway moves, Kovalchuk got the opportunity to show off the visual poetry of his ice dancing. Although, when I say "visual poetry", I mean whatever the opposite of that is.

He should, uh, stick to hockey.
