Patriots' Rob Gronkowski spikes puck before Bruins-Islanders game (Video)

The Boston Bruins managed to find New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and invite him, along with some of his Super Bowl champion teammates, to TD Garden Saturday night for a pre-game ceremony before their game against the New York Islanders.

Gronk, sporting a shirt for the first time since last Sunday’s NFL title game, did the ceremonial puck drop honors; but instead of doing it the traditional way, he did the only way he knew how: by spiking it like he had just caught a touchdown pass from Tom Brady:

The forceful spike caused the puck to bounce into the crowd, which was caught by one lucky fan.

This wasn’t the first incident of Gronk and a spiked puck. Back in 2012, the AHL’s Worcester Sharks invited him to a game against the Providence Bruins where he did the honors:

That puck reportedly shattered. You could excuse Gronk for not doing the same this time around. He's been quite busy since Sunday evening.
