While netting at NHL arenas provides protection for those fans sitting behind it, if you're sitting on either side of the penalty boxes or benches, there's the still the chance a puck could fly your way.

A young Montreal Canadiens fan learned that recently when P.K. Subban attempted to fire a shot off the high glass and into the Ottawa Senators' zone, but instead ended up hitting him. The puck deflected off his dad's arm and hit the young boy in the ear.

Not a fun memory for a young fan, but the Canadiens and Subban made up for the accident by surprising Thomas and his dad for a recent episode of the 24CH reality show:

That's going to be some memory for the kid when he gets older, whether it was his first hockey game or not.

We've seen the kind of damage that can happen when a puck goes into the crowd. Luckily, this one was just a minor bump on the ear and the kid got to meet a star in the end.
