Olympic quarterfinals set; Canada faces Latvia, U.S. meets Jagr, Czechs

All times Eastern

• U.S./Czech Republic will be shown on USA Network and TSN2, while Canada/Latvia can be found on CBC and MSNBC.

• Latvia and Canada will meet in the Olympics for the first time since 1936. Does Ted Nolan's men have a bigger upset in them after eliminating the Swiss?

• We might all be looking ahead to a U.S.-Canada semifinal, but how many of us expected the Swiss to get by Latvia today?

• Dan Bylsma sees U.S. still able to be better. “I would say there are opportunities that we have missed that we can play quickly, play north, push the pace up the ice,” he said. “That’s something we did well at times; I just think we can be better at realizing that.”

• Russia has not surrendered a goal in 140 minutes and 11 seconds.

• No word yet on whether or not Sergei Bobrovsky or Semyon Varlamov will get the start for Russia against Tuukka Rask and Finland. We have two goal keepers. Both have played very well. It's difficult to say who's is No. 1," said head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov.

• According to the IIHF, "Slovenia has never played in any quarterfinal in elite international hockey before, including the Yugoslavia era." They'll face a huge test in trying to get pucks by Henrik Lundqvist.
