NHL Three Stars: Stamkos leads Lightning; Avalanche, Sharks still winning a lot

More like Andrew Sadd, am I right? Nailed it.

No. 1 Star: Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning

Stamkos was excellent as usual for the Lightning versus the Florida Panthers. He scored a goal, his eighth of the season, added an assist, and notched a shootout goal on a gorgeous deke to lead Tampa to a 4-3 shootout win.

No. 2 Star: Artem Anisimov, Columbus Blue Jackets

Anisimov two of the Blue Jackets' three goals versus the Anaheim Ducks, one shorthanded, tying the game twice. Unfortunately, the club couldn't pull ahead and Corey Perry eventually put the Ducks up 4-3 for good. Anisimov also registered a game-high 5 shots on goal and starred in one of the biggest, cleanest hits of the season, although he was on the wrong end of it. Francois Beauchemin crushes him here:

No. 3 Star: Paul Stastny, Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche edged the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 Sunday thanks in no small way to Stastny's big third period. The Avs' forward assisted on the game-tying goal and then scored the winner. Matt Duchene, who is awesome this year, also scored his 9th of the season in the win.

Honorable mention: Corey Perry showed some serious patience on the Ducks' game-winner:

... Alex Stalock made 38 saves for the win in his first NHL start as the San Jose Sharks knocked off the Ottawa Senators, 5-2... Anze Kopitar scored the shootout winner as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Edmonton Oilers, 2-1.

Did you know? The Colorado Avalanche are 10-1 for the first time in team history.

Dishonorable mention: Sloppy puck control by the Blue Jackets on the Perry goal... For shame, Nick Bjugstad. You never squirt a man while he's down.
