NHL Three Stars: Corey Perry’s OT heroism; Crawford keeps Blackhawks surging

No. 1 Star: Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks star scored his fifth of the season at 4:14 of overtime on the power play, giving Anaheim a 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Perry also scored a second-period goal, and assisted on Ryan Getzlaf’s power-play goal to tie the game in the third.

No. 2 Star: Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks

Crawford made 28 saves as the Blackhawks extended their season-opening point streak to 18 games. He made Andrew Shaw’s goal stand up, and out-dueled Steve Mason for the 1-0 victory.

No. 3 Star: Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames

The Flames captain scored his second of the game at 18:37 of the third period to tie the game, before Curtis Glencross won the game 13 seconds later. Calgary defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-4. Raffi Torres had two goals for the Coyotes.

Honorable Mention: Daniel Paille had a goal and an assist, and Zdeno Chara had a spin-o-rama goal in the Boston Bruins’ 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Tuukka Rask made 34 saves. ...
