NHL Three Stars: Three games, three shutouts; Gibson wins debut

No. 1 Star: Karri Ramo, Calgary Flames

Ramo gave the New Jersey Devils' playoff hopes a blow with a 31-save effort as the Flames squeezed out a 1-0 victory. Mark Giordano scored on the power play 23 seconds into the third period and that was more than enough as Calgary helped the New York Rangers clinch a playoff spot with the win.

No. 2 Star: Ilya Bryzgalov, Minnesota Wild

For the second game in a row, Bryzgalov shutout an opponent. Monday night it was the Winnipeg Jets falling to Bryz and the Wild by a 1-0 score, moving the Minnesota to within a point from a playoff spot. Charlie Coyle scored the only goal early in the second period and Bryzgalov did the rest making 24 saves to extend his shutout streak to 143:15. He now has 34 career shutouts.

No. 3 Star: John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks

Making his NHL debut, Gibson had a memorable night stopping 18 shots as the Ducks blanked the Vancouver Canucks 3-0. Daniel Winnik, Kyle Palmieri and Matt Beleskey scored in all three periods as the Ducks helped Gibson become the first NHL goalie to record a shutout in their debut since Al Montoya in 2009.

Honorable mention: Michael Hutchinson made 16 saves in a losing effort during his NHL debut for the Jets ... Jim Slater played his 500th NHL game ... Some quick thinking from Kris Russell helped keep the Devils off the scoreboard:

Did you know? The Devils have been shutout seven times this season with Cory Schneider in net.

Dishonorable mention: Andrew Ladd missed his first game since the 2010-11 season with an injury ... With the loss the Canucks were eliminated from playoff contention.
