NHL Three Stars: Perry leads Anaheim comeback; Nyquist keeps scoring

@AGretz

No. 1 Star: Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks

Down 2-0 in the third period, a pair of Perry goals helped begin the Anaheim comeback as they would end up beating the Edmonton Oilers 3-2. Perry finished with a three-point night as his assist helped set up Francois Beauchemin's game-winning goal with 1:21 left in regulation. Fredrik Andersen made 30 stops as the Ducks won their 50th game of the season. Perry and Andersen hooked up for Anaheim's first goal:

No. 2 Star: Anders Nilsson, New York Islanders

They might be out of playoff contention, but the Islanders continue to roll on and their 2-1 win over the Ottawa Senators gives them five wins in six games. Nilsson picked up his third win in a row with a 35-save night, including 15 stops in the final period. Casey Cizikas' power play goal with 10:29 left in the third period broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Senators' faint playoff hopes a blow.

No. 3 Star: Gustav Nyquist, Detroit Red Wings

Nyquist just can't stop scoring. The young Red Wings forward scored his 28th goal in 51 games with 7:12 left in regulation to snap a 2-2 tie and help Detroit get by the Boston Bruins 3-2. Nyquist took advantage of a Bruins line change and used his speed to break into the Boston zone and beat Rask for the go-ahead goal:

Honorable mention: Josh Bailey, playing in his 400th NHL game, had his second consecutive two-point night for the Islanders ... Jimmy Howard made 33 saves as the Red Wings improved their lead in the Eastern Conference wildcard race to three points over the Columbus Blue Jackets ... Tanner Pearson, Jeff Carter, Anze Kopitar and Alec Martinez each recorded two points and Jonathan Quick made 17 saves as the Los Angeles Kings blanked the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0. The shutout was Quick's sixth of the season and 31st of his career. With the win, LA clinched a playoff spot for the fifth straight season.

Did you know? Gustav Nyquist has scored a league-high 23 goals since Jan. 20. (AP)

Dishonorable mention: The Bruins saw their nine game road win streak come to an end. Also, via the AP, their loss to Detroit was the first time in 16 games they failed to earn at least a point ... Jarome Iginla was scratched for injury reasons for the first time since 2007 ... Phoenix recorded a season-low 17 shots.
