No. 1 Star: Martin Havlat, San Jose Sharks

Havlat scored a natural hat trick in the third period – including an empty net goal with 4:56 remaining, because Patrick Roy is nutty like that – as the San Jose Sharks routed the Colorado Avalanche, 5-1. Havlat also had an assist on Patrick Marleau’s 33rd goal. Alex Stalock made 32 saves.

No. 2 Star: Eric Brewer, Tampa Bay Lightning

Brewer rarely scores, let alone pots two in a game. But he tallied twice in a 3:12 span to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 win over Columbus. Kristers Gudlevskis made 36 saves for his first NHL win.

No. 3 Star: Kari Lehtonen, Dallas Stars

Lehtonen made 22 saves for the shutout as the Dallas Stars clinched a playoff spot in a 3-0 win over the St. Louis Blues. Tyler Seguin scored goal No. 37 in the victory.

Honorable mention: Cam Ward made 28 saves to make two first period goals stand up in the Carolina Hurricanes’ 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. … Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves, Jay Beagle scored two goals and Alex Ovechkin notched his 51st in the Washington Capitals’ 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. … The New York Islanders scored on all three attempts against Marty Brodeur in the shootout, beating the New Jersey Devils, 3-2. … Carl Klingberg scored his first NHL goal in the Winnipeg Jets’ 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames, and boy was he happy:
