NHL Three Stars: Landeskog rallies Avalanche; Burrows ejected for elbow

No. 1 Star: Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche

The Avs captain may not have called “bank” when his pass across the crease hit Jack Johnson and went in, but Landeskog got credit for the OT game winner in Colorado’s 3-2 rally against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He also scored the game-tying goal in the third.

No. 2 Star: Ryan Miller, St. Louis Blues

Miller was stellar in defeating his old rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, 1-0, making 31 saves in the 1-0 shootout win. T.J. Oshie (of course) and Kevin Shattenkirk had the shootout goals.

No. 3 Star: Andrew Ladd, Winnipeg Jets

The Jets put the puck behind Thomas Greiss twice, and Ladd did it both times: On a first-period goal and then in the shootout in their 2-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. Ondrej Pavelec rebounded with a 28-save effort.

Honorable mention: Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves and Alex Chiasson had a 3-point night in the Dallas Stars’ 5-0 domination of the Washington Capitals. Tyler Seguin scored his 33rd. … Elias Lindholm scored two goals including the game-winner as the Carolina Hurricanes topped the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-1. … The Toronto Maple Leafs continued to confound critics with a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames. David Clarkson scored the game winner. … Josh Bailey had a goal and an assist in the New York Islanders’ 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers. … The Tampa Bay Lightning clinched a playoff spot in their 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens, in a first round playoff preview.
