NHL Three Stars: Devils, Schneider blank Coyotes; Ducks top Red Wings

No. 1 Star: Cory Schneider, New Jersey Devils

Schneider made 38 saves as the Devils blanked the Arizona Coyotes 3-0. The win was New Jersey’s fourth in a row, their longest winning streak since Feb. 2013. Schneider recorded his third shutout of the season and has allowed only four goals over these four victories.

No. 2 Star: John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks

After allowing two goals to Pavel Datsyuk in the second period, Gibson and the Ducks settled down to come from behind and defeat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 after a shootout. Gibson made 34 stops and participated in his first career shootout to help secure his third straight win. Jakob Silfverberg put home the game-deciding tally:

No. 3 Star: Mike Cammalleri, New Jersey Devils

Cammalleri netted a pair of third period goals to put the Coyotes away, including the empty-net insurance marker with under two minutes to play. He now has four goals and five points in his last three games.

Honorable Mention: Scott Gomez scored his fifth of the year and now has five points in his last six games … New Jersey has points from 14 of 16 games and are now eight points from the last wild card spot in the Eastern Conference … The Devils have not allowed a power play goal at home in 14 opportunities … Francois Beauchemin scored his seventh of the season and now has goals in three straight games ... Pavel Datsyuk continued to perform his brand of magic:

Did You Know? The Ducks scored three times in a span of 2:40 after Teemu Selanne, who was in attendance, was shown on the Jumbotron at Honda Center.

Dishonorable Mention: The loss was Arizona’s sixth in a row, a season high … Henrik Zetterberg sat out the game with an upper-body injury … Detroit fell to 3-9 in the shootout this season ... The Red Wings lost the season series to the Ducks 2-0.
