NHL Three Stars: Carter busts loose; Lundqvist rules Coyotes; Ellis downs Ducks

SAN JOSE, CA - OCTOBER 22: Mike Brown #18 and Bryan Lerg #11 of the San Jose Sharks battle for position against Jeff Carter #77 of the Los Angeles Kings during a NHL game at the SAP Center at San Jose on October 22, 2015 in San Jose, California. (Photo by Nick Lust/NHLI via Getty Images)

No. 1 Star: Jeff Carter, Los Angeles Kings

Carter was a big part of the Kings’ offensive outbreak with two goals and two assists in a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks. The four-goal output doubled LA’s previous high  for the 2015-16 season. Also, did Carter call 'bank' on this goal?

No. 2 Star: Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers

King Henrik ruled over the Arizona Coyotes with a sterling performance, stopping 34 of 35 shots on goal. Lundqvist has allowed just five goals in his last three games played. The win broke a three-game winless skid for Lundqvist.

No. 3 Star: Ryan Ellis, Nashville Predators

The Predators defenseman scored a goal and added two assists to bury the Anaheim Ducks. Ellis missed one game after blocking a shot Saturday against the Ottawa Senators. Check out this rip shortly after Nashville’s power play expired.
